Sean Dixon

MacLellan employee since 2011

From the onset of Sean’s career with MacLellan, it was clear he had excellent potential.  In 2011 MacLellan launched a contract at one of our OEM facilities in the south where Sean began working as a variable work force Team Member.   At the inception of the contract, site management was recruiting for an individual who could support the creation of work instruction sheets.  These standardized documents contain all the necessary information to complete a task safely and outline steps necessary to achieve high quality.  The repeatability factor is critical in our industry – Sean excelled in establishing these fundamental documents for the site.  This job assignment provided some insight to Sean’s abilities and served as foreshadowing of his upward mobility.

Organization and standardization were both skill sets that Sean brought with him to MacLellan.  As Sean demonstrated and further developed these skill sets, his site management took notice – as did the customer.  Sean adopted our core values: Trust, Attitude, 100% Responsibility and Commitment.

In December of 2011, Sean was promoted to Group Leader where he was asked to supervise and lead a shift to execute a scope of work.  Sean held the Group Leader position for slightly over one year.  During this time, he was able to gain a strong understanding for site specific compliances as well his technical understanding of the operation.  During January of 2013, Sean was promoted to Assistant Contract Manager in the paint shop.

When asked to describe what he was most proud of during his MacLellan tenure, Sean stated, “Championing the SAVE program for the site.”  This provides a glimpse of what Sean values – a dedication to continuous improvement.  During a 5 month period, Sean was responsible for 3 Best of the Best save activities.  “Best of Best” recognizes the most outstanding waste elimination activities throughout the organization.  Over the next two years, Sean worked with his team to develop additional Save opportunities.  As he continues to advance, we look forward to Sean’s continued growth with MacLellan.
